Nov. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Taiwan trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are at 10:46 a.m. in Taipei.
The Taiex Index fell 1.1 percent to 7,408.75, the second day of losses.
MSCI Inc. index changes: Hotai Motor Co. (2207 TT) surged 6.9 percent to NT$147.50, set for the highest close since Aug. 3. Radiant Opto-electronics Corp. (6176 TT) advanced 2 percent to NT$95.20. Standard Foods Corp. (1227 TT) increased 2.8 percent to NT$108.50. The three companies will join the MSCI Taiwan Index at the close of Nov. 30, MSCI said in a statement.
Catcher Technology Co. (2474 TT) gained 2.8 percent to NT$166.50, set for the highest close since Nov. 8. The casing company may reopen its factories in Suzhou, China next week, the Economic Daily News reported, citing unidentified people from RBS Securities Inc. who visited the company. James Wu, a spokesman for the company, wasn’t immediately available for comment at his office.
Wistron Corp. (3231 TT) lost 1.6 percent to NT$37.25. Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (2317 TT) took Sony Corp. flat panel TV orders from Wistron, Digitimes reported, without saying where it got the information. Joyce Chou, a spokeswoman for Wistron, didn’t immediately answer calls to her mobile phone. Hon Hai lost 0.7 percent to NT$81.90.
