Nov. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Greek ruling party deputy Eva Kaili called on Prime Minister George Papandreou to step aside and form a national salvation government headed by a person with wide support to safeguard the country’s new bailout.
“A referendum effectively cancels the agreement of Oct. 26 and can lead the country to bankruptcy,” Kaili said in a letter to Papandreou today, which was received by fax. Kaili didn’t say in the letter whether she would resign her seat or her membership of the party.
