Oct. 27 (Bloomberg) - -A deal agreed by European Union leaders to reduce Greece’s debt load will do nothing to aid the country’s recovery from recession, the country’s opposition New Democracy leader Antonis Samaras said.
The government “is celebrating that it achieved a haircut on the debt, something that it ruled out a short time ago,” Samaras said in comments televised on state-run NET TV. “What is needed is a growth policy, that is, the priority for a return to primary surpluses.”
