Greek Opposition Leader Rejects Papandreou Offer on EU Summit

October 19, 2011

Oct. 19 (Bloomberg) -- Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou’s invitation to main opposition party leader Antonis Samaras to attend the European Union summit on Oct. 23 was turned down, government spokesman Elias Mosialos said.

Papandreou’s offer was made in the spirit of showing there is a common front in Greece, Mosialos said in an e-mailed statement from his office in Athens today.
