Oct. 5 (Bloomberg) -- The People’s Party would “reform” the Bank of Spain to bolster transparency if elected on Nov. 20, the party’s parliamentary spokeswoman Soraya Saenz de Santamaria said.
“The Bank of Spain has to take responsibility for what happened,” she told a conference today in Madrid. “We need a reform of supervisory and regulatory bodies,” including the central bank, which regulates lenders, she said.
A spokesman for the Bank of Spain declined to comment on the comments.
