Sept. 29 (Bloomberg) -- The 30-stock Micex Index rose 2.2 percent to 1,407.71 by the 6:45 p.m. close in Moscow. The dollar-denominated RTS Index climbed 1.6 percent to 1,389.14.
The following were among the most active stocks in the Russian market today. Stock symbols are in parentheses.
OAO Aeroflot (AFLT RX) jumped 4.3 percent to 51.84 rubles, the strongest daily gain since Aug 31. Russia’s biggest airline reported a 25 percent increase in passengers carried in August compared with the same month a year ago.
OAO Raspadskaya (RASP RX) slid 2.5 percent to 99.66 rubles, the lowest closing position since September 2009. The Russian coal producer said first-half profit fell 57 percent from a year earlier after a fire at its flagship mine cut capacity.
OAO Rosneft (ROSN RX) and OAO Lukoil (LKOH RX), Russia’s two biggest oil companies, rose 3.4 percent to 196.46 rubles and 2.6 percent to 1,655.90 rubles, respectively. Crude oil futures jumped 1.6 percent to $82.50 a barrel in New York.
