Sept. 29 (Bloomberg) -- Hungary’s “specific turnover” tax on telecommunications operators is “illegal” in a “clear- cut” case, European Commission spokesman Jonathan Todd told reporters today in Brussels.

The commission has told Hungary to end the tax.
