NUM to Demand an Extra 1,000 Rand a Month for Northam Workers

June 14 (Bloomberg) -- The National Union of Mineworkers said it will demand an extra 1,000 rand a month for employees at Northam Platinum Ltd. and an increase in the living out allowance to 3,500 rand a month.

NUM represents 7,000 of Northam’s 8,000 employees, the labor union said in an e-mailed statement today. Northam and the labor union will meet tomorrow for talks, it said.
