OAO GMK Norilsk Nickel will write to shareholders before an Oct. 21 meeting to elect a new board, setting out its case in a battle for control of the company.
Norilsk commented in an e-mailed statement today.
United Co. Rusal (486), run by billionaire Oleg Deripaska, began a website last week putting forward its argument against some of Norilsk Nickel’s managers and rival shareholder Vladimir Potanin’s Interros Holding Co. Deripaska and Potanin are locked in a battle for control of Russia’s biggest mining company.
