MARKET MOVERS Kmart Rises on Analyst Upgrade Intel raises revenue guidance; Petco gains after earnings news; plus more of Friday's stocks in the news UBS Financial upgrades Kmart (KMRT ) and Sears (S ) to buy and raises Kmart's target to $160. Intel (INTC ) sees first-quarter revenue of $9.2 billion to $9.4 billion, vs. previous guidance of $8.8 billion to $9.4 billion. The company expects gross margin to be about 57%. S&P keeps hold. Petco (PETC ) shares gained after the company posted 47 cents (including items) vs. 36 cents fourth-quarter EPS on a 5.1% rise in same-store sales and an 11% rise in total sales. It sees 33 cents to 34 cents first-quarter EPS and $1.80 to $1.81 for all of fiscal 2006. ThinkEquity reportedly ups to buy. S&P keeps hold. Piper Jaffray upgraded BMC Software (BMC )to outperform from market perform. UBS Financial upgraded Kmart Holding (KMRT ) and Sears (S ) to buy and raised its Kmart target price to $160. Tech Data Corp. (TECD ) posted 99 cents, vs. 67 cents fourth-quarter earnings per share on a 14% sales rise. The company sees 57 cents to 62 cents first-quarter earnings per share from operations on sales of $4.95 billion to $5.1 billion. First Albany downgrades to neutral from buy. Tivo (TIVO ) posted a 42-cent fourth-quarter loss, vs. an 18-cent loss despite a 73% service revenue rise. The company sees $8 million to $10 million in first-quarter net loss on $37.4 million to $38 million in service and tech revenue. It expects to reach profitability in the fourth quarter. Halliburton (HAL ) announces a proposed offering by DII Industries LLC Asbestos PI Trust of 54.5 million Halliburton shares. Navigant International (FLYR ) is to delay the filing of its 2004 10-K. The company cites a review of its allocation of purchase price of certain business acquisitions between goodwill, customer-related, and other identifiable intangibles. Bradley Pharmaceuticals (BDY ) says it will defend itself against purported class action lawsuits filed against the company, and, in some cases, certain officers. The company says it will be unable to file its 10-K on a timely basis. It withdraws financial guidance. Sports Authority (TSA ) posted 97 cents, vs. $1.08 fourth-quarter earnings per share (excluding merger-related costs) on 2.2% lower same-store sales and flat total sales. The company sees $1.90 to $1.95 fiscal 2006 earnings per share, excluding lease accounting adjustment and stock options. S&P reiterates sell. Visteon Corp. (VC ) announces a financial pact with Ford Motor (F ), whereby Ford will advance payment of not less than $120 million of payables. S&P reiterates hold. Prudential and CS First Boston each upgraded the stock to neutral. Aeropostale (ARO ) posted 62 cents, vs. 47 cents fourth-quarter earnings per share on 1.9% higher same-store sales and 20% higher total sales. S&P maintains buy. eCollege.com (ECLG ) posted 6 cents, vs. 3 cents fourth-quarter earnings per share (pro forma) on a 60% revenue rise. The company sees 1 cent to 2 cents first-quarter earnings per share. The company expects to delay the filing of its 10-K for 2004. Quiksilver (ZQK ) posted 23 cents, vs. 16 cents first-quarter earnings per share on a 34% revenue rise. The company raises fiscal 2005 revenue and earnings per share guidance from $1.48 billion to $1.5 billion and $1.62 to $1.65. S&P maintains hold. Puget Energy (PSD ) sees 2005 earnings per share from continuing operations of $1.30 to $1.40 and 2006 earnings per share from continuing operations of $1.40 to $1.55. J Jill Group (JILL ) posted 13 cents, vs. 16 cents fourth-quarter earnings per share despite 2.4% higher same-store sales and a 4% sales rise. The company expects first-quarter net sales of $91 million to $93 million and a loss of 25 cents to 28 cents. JLG Industries (JLG ) announces the pricing of its underwritten public offering of 5 million shares, increased from the previously announced 4.7 million shares, at $21.97 per share.
