Major Objectives
For our size, the company wants to be a good corporate citizen.
Our initiatives have two focuses. First we want to support the major health care facilities in town. These include Prentice Women's Hospital (which features an Alberto-Culver Women's Health Center and to which we have made a significant pledge for their new hospital), the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Northwestern Memorial Healthcare and the University of Chicago Cancer Program.
We also have an innovative program called Jumpstart grants that search out groups and programs in our focus area who may not yet be big enough to be on the major funders radar screens. We help them with programs to get them established with grants for their first executive director, first computerizing etc.
