Great Data Visualization of Swine Flu From The New York Times

Posted by: Bruce Nussbaum on May 18, 2009

It’s weird to keep reading about the decline of The New York Times and its possible sale when the Times online is such a pioneer of online news. Check out this wonderful data visualization of Swine Flu. It gives you a visceral understanding of the outbreak—where, how many, the impact.

This data visualization is SO much better than a bar chart. Gen Yers are leading the way in visualization of data because they think visually much more than boomers. The Grey Lady is transforming herself even as her obit is being written.

Bruce,

Here is a brilliant analysis of the swine flu in context to the "big picture" by the master himself: Hans Rosling
