Insight on Creativity--With Humor: Sir Ted Johnson.

Posted by: Bruce Nussbaum on June 28, 2006

If you want some very interesting insight into creativity, check out the TED talks series and the chat by Sir Ken Johnson. He’s an advisor to the Getty and discourses on the importance of creativity in education.

In our conversations about creativity, we rarely talk about the academic work being done on the subject. It’s not a fallow field—and it’s not crazy or weird, as many business folk would have it. I know that Teachers College, the graduate school of education at Columbia U in NYC, devotes resources to studying how best to teach children to be creative. Should the Columbia Business School reach out to the Ed School to learn about creativity and innovation? You bet. Harvard has a great graduate education school and so does Stanford. Do their B-Schools ever talk to the Ed Schools? Probably not. Should they? You bet.
