TECHNOLOGY & EDUCATION DIGEST
A Moderated Mailing List
Steve Wildstrom (steve_wildstrom@businessweek.com), Moderator

Welcome to Business Week's Technology & Education mailing list.

This list is dedicated to discussion of how schools, particularly elementary and secondary schools, can best take advantage of information technology in the teaching of students, making teachers more effective, and increasing the efficiency of educational administration. It has a special emphasis on promoting cooperation between businesses and schools in achieving these goals.

Tech-Ed is a moderated list. Postings should be sent to tech-ed@listserv.businessweek.com . I will assemble posts into digests and send them to all list participants at regular intervals (the volume of postings will determine the frequency of digests, but I do not anticipate that this will become a high-volume list).

Please include your real name and location, although messages from anyone with a legitimate need for anonymity will be posted without identifying information.

We reserve the right to trim very long posts. In particular, try to keep quotes from previous posts to a minimum; this will save me the trouble of snipping out excessive quotations. We also reserve the right to withhold posts deemed to be inappropriate. What is inappropriate? Messages off the topic of the list and messages that are personal attacks on other posters or otherwise offensive. We want to encourage debate, but let's keep it polite and stick to issues, not personalities.

Since a major purpose of this list is to encourage private-sector involvement in schools, business representatives are welcome to post and to describe products that they feel are of value to educators. But please, keep it informational -- no outright ads. And I will hold commercial posters to one message per product.

Enjoy, post early and often, and invite your friends to subscribe.
