If Taylor Swift’s recent split from Conor Kennedy portends anything, it’s another hit. The young songstress, 22, is known to project personal heartache into her songs and lyrics, often with chart-topping results. In the 12 months ended May 1 she earned $57 million, estimates Forbes. Here’s how some of her other songs, rumored on entertainmentwise.com to be based on other high-profile breakups, have performed on Billboard’s Hot 100:

Jake Gyllenhaal
We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (#1, Sept. 1, 2012)

John Mayer
I Knew You Were Trouble (#3, Oct. 27, 2012)
Dear John (#54, Nov. 13, 2010)

Taylor Lautner
Back to December (#6, Oct. 30, 2010)

Joe Jonas
Forever & Always (#34, Nov. 14, 2009)
Last Kiss (#71, Nov. 13, 2010)
Better Than Revenge (#56, Nov. 13, 2010)
