North Dakota officials are counting on travelers' desire for a legendary vacation to drive more visitors to the state.
State tourism officials, along with Gov. Jack Dalrymple, have unveiled the state's new marketing campaign for the year: Arrive a guest. Leave a Legend.
Tourism Division Director Sara Otte Coleman says the idea is that once visitors cross the border into North Dakota, everything and anything is possible.
She says, "In North Dakota, visitors' experiences can transform them from being a guest to a legend."
The marketing campaign features new television and print ads as well as new travel and hunting guides.
Tourism officials say the campaign is geared toward audiences in the neighboring states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Montana as well as the Canadian provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
