Science Applications International Corp. said Thursday it was awarded a Department of Defense contract worth up to $53 million to provide information technology services and electronic health record systems for a military health insurance program.
Work will be performed in Falls Church, Va., and San Diego, Calif.
The contract to support Tricare Management Activity Military Health System, is for at least one year, but has three one-year extension options.
The military system manages health care for more than nine million active and retired military members, their families and beneficiaries.
The McLean, Va.-based company's contract will provide services designed to improve the current electronic health record system with updates to improve speed and performance.
Shares rose 5 cents to close at $17.53.
