SEATTLE
Starbucks Coffee Co. said Tuesday that it has appointed Jeff Hansberry as president of the company's global consumer products group and foodservice.
Starbucks has being putting a heavier emphasis on its consumer products business to help round out its business model after a huge expansion of its retail business led to major job cuts and store closures. The company has recently launched a new flavored coffee for home brew and instant coffee lines.
Hansberry worked most recently for E&J Gallo Winery, where he was vice president and general manager, and previously worked at Procter & Gamble.
He assumes the new role in June and will report to Chairman, President and CEO Howard Schultz.
Shares of Starbucks fell 33 cents to close at $26.58.
