Ametek acquires pair of aviation repair operations

BERWYN, Pa. (AP) — Electronic instruments maker Ametek Inc. said Monday that it acquired the aviation repair operations Aero Components International and Avtech Avionics and Instruments for undisclosed sums.

Both companies are privately held and based in Miami. ACI repairs and overhauls fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, power generation and heat exchanger components, while Avtech's specialty is the repair and maintenance of avionics and instruments.

The businesses both operate facilities near Ametek's aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul operations.

Ametek said the businesses will join its aerospace and defense division.

Shares of Berwyn, Pa.-based Ametek fell 13 cents to $37.19 in morning trading.
