Aflac Inc. fell $.26 or .5 percent, to $49.77.

American International Group fell $.32 or 1.0 percent, to $31.03.

MBIA rose $.30 or 4.4 percent, to $7.11.

MGIC Investments Corp. rose $.05 or 3.2 percent, to $1.60.

MetLife fell $.27 or .9 percent, to $31.20.

XL Group PLC fell $.17 or .7 percent, to $23.58.
