NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top telecom companies were mixed at the close of trading:

AT&T Inc. fell $.03 or .1 percent, to $34.80.

Sprint Nextel fell $.02 or .3 percent, to $5.73.

Verizon Communications Inc. rose $.10 or .2 percent, to $44.30.
