Kroger fell $.07 or .3 percent, to $25.15.

Safeway rose $.14 or .9 percent, to $16.45.

Supervalu rose $.05 or 1.6 percent, to $3.16.

Whole Foods Market Inc. fell $.05 or .1 percent, to $94.74.
