Kroger rose $.02 or .1 percent, to $23.70.

Safeway fell $.05 or .3 percent, to $16.02.

Supervalu fell $.05 or 2.1 percent, to $2.37.

Whole Foods Market Inc. fell $.60 or .6 percent, to $99.15.
