NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top tools and appliances companies are down at 10 a.m.:

General Electric Co. fell $.16 or .7 percent, to $22.27.

Snap-On fell $.73 or 1.0 percent, to $72.18.

Stanley Works fell $.95 or 1.2 percent, to $75.54.

Whirlpool Corp. fell $.83 or 1.0 percent, to $84.18.
