News Summary: Drought states welcome Isaac's rain

RAIN, MAN: Remnants of Hurricane Isaac could bring some rain to the Mississippi River valley, but experts say it's unlikely to break the drought gripping the region.

THIRSTY GROUND: 2 to 6 inches of rain may fall in Arkansas, Missouri and Illinois — areas hard hit by the drought stretching from the West Coast to Kentucky and Ohio.

TOO MUCH, TOO LATE? Flooding can be a concern anytime too much rain falls fast, but officials in Arkansas and Missouri said they weren't too concerned because the ground is so dry that it should be able to absorb the rain.
