The finance arm of General Electric Co. said Wednesday that it has signed a long-term lease in a downtown New Orleans office for its new information technology center.
GE Capital announced in February that it would hire 300 people for the center, with salaries ranging from $60,000 to $100,000. Jobs will be in the fields of computer engineering, data management, network services and computing operations.
The center, which will provide software development and IT support for GE's financial services business, is expected to begin operating late in the summer. Full staffing is expected by the end of 2015.
GE Capital said the lease covers about 60,000 square feet of office space at Place St. Charles.
