| COVER STORY
Diagnosing a Sick Office 1. Interview people with symptoms--and review records of past complaints to determine possible causes. Is the HVAC system dirty? Has the bathroom recently flooded? Is there a renovation being done on the floor below? 2. Ask your building operator to conduct an investigation and give you records of past complaints. 3. Hire your own outside specialist in indoor air quality/HVAC, and compare results with the building operator's. This will protect you against a building operator who is trying to hide something. 4. Share all information with employees--secrecy breeds fear. 5. Monitor results. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ |
