How to Avoid the Collywobbles...

-- Be suspicious of unpasteurized and raw foods
-- Go to busy delis where food is likely to turn over more
-- Avoid deli items like tuna salad if at room temperature
-- Cook hamburger until the center is brown and juices run clear
-- Defrost food in the refrigerator, not on the counter
-- Reheat leftovers until they bubble, sizzle, or steam
-- Buy perishables last and put them away first
-- Don't baste meat with its marinade
-- Don't taste food until it's thoroughly cooked
-- Scrub hands with soap and hot water when handling raw food
-- Wash produce even if it has a throwaway peel
