Tax Software Tussle

It's beginning to look a lot like tax time. Or so it would seem from the shrink-wrapped boxes of software flying off retailers' shelves this season. Intuit's TurboTax brand snagged four of the top ten bestselling software spots in January, according to NPD. H&R Block, eager to steal some TurboTax thunder, nabbed the No. 3 spot. The early months of the year are a make-or-break time of year for both companies and the angling will only heat up as April 15 nears. Rounding out the top ten were Symantec and Webroot, peddling security and peace of mind online and Microsoft with its Office Student/Teacher edition.
