STRATEGY FOR APPLICANTS
| |
Although Tennessee does accept a sizable number of applicants with limited work experience, Donna Potts, the director of MBA admissions, says the most successful candidates are those who have been out in the workforce long enough to have established communication and leadership skills. One place to let your achievements shine is in a personal interview -- they're not required, but 70 percent of admitted applicants in 1998 did sit down one on one with an admissions officer. If your job experience is weak, be sure to emphasize your accomplishments and leadership demonstrated in extracurricular and academic activities. Those interested in visiting campus should call the admissions office for an interview appointment.
