STRATEGY FOR APPLICANTS
| |
Irvine has a rolling admissions policy, so you should apply early. Although you don't need to have a strong technology background to gain admittance to Irvine, the school wants to see that you have good quantitative skills. Work experience is not required, but about 97% of MBAs have at least one year of professional experience.
Irvine strongly encourages applicants to interview. The admissions office interviews almost everybody on campus, but you can schedule an interview by phone if you can't make it. Letters of recommendation are also extremely important. Barbara Nelles, director of admissions and marketing, likes to see how applicants have contributed to society, so be sure to include those types of accomplishments in your essays.
