July 3 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. employers added 288,000 jobs in June, more than projected, and the unemployment rate fell to an almost six-year low of 6.1 percent, Labor Department figures showed today in Washington.
Separately, jobless claims rose by 2,000 to 315,000 in the week ended June 28. The trade deficit narrowed by 5.6 percent, the biggest drop since November, to $44.4 billion in May. Peter Cook and Michael McKee report on Bloomberg Television's "In the Loop." (Source: Bloomberg)
