Sanders, McCain Reach Deal on Veterans' Health Care Play

June 5 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. Senators Bernie Sanders, a Vermont independent and chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, and John McCain, a Republican from Arizona, speak about their bipartisan legislation to fund the hiring of more doctors and nurses at Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals in an effort to reduce the long waits for many veterans seeking care. The bill also authorizes the VA to lease 26 new health facilities in 18 states and allows veterans who live at least 40 miles from VA medical facilities to seek non-VA care. Senators Tim Kaine, a Democrat from Virginia, and Chuck Schumer, a Democrat from New York, also speak on the Senate floor. (Source: Bloomberg)
