May 19 (Bloomberg) -- Jerome Kerviel, the former Societe Generale SA trader facing prison for a record banking loss, spoke to reporters yesterday at the French border in Italy after undertaking a walk between Rome and Paris.
Kerviel said he was awaiting word from President Francois Hollande on granting immunity to people within the French judicial system who want to criticize the manner in which his case was conducted. Bloomberg's Caroline Connan reports. Kerviel was later held by police in Menton, France, near the border with Italy, to instruct him on his three-year jail sentence. (Source: Bloomberg)
