Alfa Romeo Japan Targets Gays as Acceptance Grows Play

Jan. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Tiziana Alamprese, marketing director in Japan for Alfa Romeo, the Italian car brand owned by Fiat SpA, talks about their business strategy to target a group of customers usually overlooked by most Japanese companies: gays and lesbians. While major U.S. and European companies have targeted gay consumers since at least the 1990s, the trend has been slow to catch on in Japan. With opinion polls showing a growing acceptance of homosexuality, that's beginning to change. Alamprese spoke Dec. 12 with Bloomberg's Anna Mukai in Tokyo. (Source: Bloomberg)
