Miami Invests Billions to Woe Super Ships Play

100 years ago the Panama Canal opened with great fanfare. Now, it's going through a $5-billion expansion so ships bigger than 3 football fields can get through its locks. The expanded Canal will give the new super ships direct access to ports on the East coast. That has cities like Miami fiercely competing for the potential business. Bloomberg’s Carole Zimmer visited PortMiami, which is investing $2 billion to try and attract the big ships and the cargo they’ll be carrying.
