Fed's Tarullo Urges Clear Wind-Down Plan for Banks Play

Oct. 18 (Bloomberg) -- Federal Reserve Governor Daniel Tarullo speaks about the purpose, features and importance of a resolution mechanism for failing banks, and the relationship of that mechanism with the broader regulatory agenda. Tarullo warned that creditors could penalize the largest banks with higher interest rates or desert them entirely if the government doesn’t clarify plans for winding down firms near collapse. He spoke at a conference on how to handle failing banks sponsored by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and the Richmond Fed. (Source: Bloomberg)
