July 22 (Bloomberg) -- Florida manatees recover from red tide contamination at the Lowry Park Zoo and Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park. Once healthy, they are released back into the wild.
Boats are the main cause of death for manatees. But last year’s red tide, the first since 2007, wiped out about 10 percent of the manatee population, zoo officials say. (Courtesy: Save the Manatee Club. Source: Bloomberg)
