U.S. Jobless Claims Jump; Housing Starts, CPI Fall Play

May 16 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. Jobless claims jumped by 32,000 to 360,000 in the week ended May 11, Labor Department figures showed today in Washington. Separately, housing starts slumped 16.5 percent to a five-month low, the Commerce Department reported. The consumer-price index fell 0.4 percent, more than forecast.
