Congress Clears Bill to Avoid Government Shutdown Play

March 21 (Bloomberg) -- Congress gave final approval to legislation to avert a partial government shutdown, in a rare example of bipartisan cooperation on federal spending. The House voted 318-109 today to send the spending bill to President Barack Obama for his signature. The measure, which would fund federal agencies through the Sept. 30 end of the 2013 fiscal year, cleared the Senate on a bipartisan 73-26 vote yesterday. Legislation currently funding government agencies expires March 27. (Source: Bloomberg)
