Pakistanis Flock to American Food as Ties Strained Play

Jan. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Pakistani and overseas business groups are queuing up to buy franchise rights in the country. Fatburger North America Inc., a Beverly Hills, California-based hamburger chain, opened its first store in South Asia’s second-biggest economy on Jan. 5. Fullerton, California-based Tutti Frutti Frozen Yoghurt has 20 outlets in Pakistan since opening in late 2011, and plans to start 100 more this year. Pakistanis increasingly flock to American food outlets even as ties between the two nations are strained by U.S. drone missile strikes in the northwest of the country. (Source: Bloomberg)
