Oct. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Heather Hampel, a genetic counselor at Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, talks with Bloomberg's Robert Langreth about failures to administer tests for Lynch syndrome, an inherited disposition to contracting certain forms of colorectal and endometrial cancers. While genetic testing is becoming cheaper and more widespread, long-existing DNA tests are often overlooked for reasons ranging from doctors’ ignorance to financial incentives discouraging companies from marketing them.
