U.S. August Retail Sales Rose 0.9% on Auto Demand Play

Sept. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Retail sales in the U.S. increased 0.9 percent in August, the most in six months. This followed a revised 0.6 percent advance in July that was smaller than initially reported, the Commerce Department said today in Washington.
