Aug. 6 (Bloomberg) -- One hundred and thirty eight skydivers from Skydive Chicago broke the world record for the largest vertical skydive on August 4 over Ottawa, Illinois. After leaping out of planes at 18,500 feet, the divers joined in a formation 150 feet wide while plunging at speeds of up to 220 miles per hour. The previous record was set by 108 skydivers in 2009.
