Aug. 1 (Bloomberg) -- First Solar Inc., the world’s biggest maker of thin-film solar modules, said second-quarter profit rose after it recognized revenue for selling power projects in the U.S. Southwest. Net income was $111 million, or $1.27 a share, compared with $61.1 million, or 70 cents, a year earlier.
