July 17 (Bloomberg) -- On July 14, the Presidio Social Club, a San Francisco restaurant, drew a crowd to savor foie gras in honor of Bastille Day as protests took place outside. The next day, about a dozen people walked into a cozy San Francisco restaurant with a window sign reading “private event” to enjoy the delicacy, California’s newest forbidden fruit. Two weeks after the state’s ban on selling and producing the fatty duck liver, some chefs are finding new ways to circumvent restrictions. Bloomberg’s Alison Vekshin reports. (Source: Bloomberg)
