Would-Be Astronauts Vie for $500M NASA Prize Play

NASA plans in late July or August to award three companies as much as $500 million each as part of the final phase of a program to design and develop the privately operated vehicles, according to prepared congressional testimony by William Gerstenmaier, an associate administrator for the agency. He urged lawmakers to avoid targeting the program for cuts.
