Feb. 21 (Bloomberg) -- David de Garis, a senior economist at National Australia Bank Ltd., talks about the nation's economy and central bank monetary policy. The Reserve Bank of Australia kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged this month as risks in Europe abated and said it has scope to ease policy if demand were to "weaken materially," minutes of its Feb. 7 meeting showed.
