NYC Financial District After Hurricane Irene

NYC Financial District After Hurricane Irene Play

Aug. 28 (Bloomberg) -- New York City's financial district withstood the wind and rain Irene brought throughout the day. The category 1 hurricane, which was downgraded to a tropical storm as it hit the greater New York area, left some areas flooded and snapped hundreds of trees throughout the city. U.S. stock, bond and commodity markets will open as usual tomorrow after Manhattan was spared the worst of Irene, avoiding the first shutdown due to weather since 1985.(Source: Bloomberg)
