Election Night Twitter: Good News, Bad News

It looks like Twitter, which has had a tendency to collapse under heavy loads, has really got its infrastructure in order. As of 11 pm Eastern, the service was holding up beautifully under the flood of election night tweets—not a Fail Whale in sight.

The bad news: The Twitter election feeds I looked at were almost totally devoid of any useful or interesting content. Lots of “Go Obama Go” and lots of people “calling” states for Obama on the basis of nothing in particular, but no news you couldn’t get with less trouble elsewhere.
